Sword 48012 1/48 Reggiane Re 2001 Falco II
Reggiane installed the German-made Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine on the Re.2000 aircraft to improve its performance, resulting in the Re.2001. The prototype flew for the first time in July 1940, but the effect of the engine change was disappointing. However, it was officially adopted in 1941 because the Air Force wanted fighter aircraft to participate in World War II. From 1941 to 1942, 243 of this aircraft were built and operated as interceptors, fighter-bombers and night fighters. Decals for three versions are included.
