The Tornado is one of NATO’s most successful and versatile weapon systems and has already proven itself in many conflict situations. At the start of any conflict, RAF Tornadoes armed with ALARM guided missiles are among the first Allied aircraft to enter enemy airspace on their dangerous air defense mission. After this, other Tornado units can safely follow and fly precision bombing raids and enemy positions. Due to the large 2250 l additional tanks, the RAF Tornados also have an exceptional range. The maximum speed is 1340 km/h at an altitude of 150 m.
