Suzuki’s popular hot hatch underwent a model change in 2017, receiving a revamped body and a 140hp 1.4-liter turbocharged engine driving the front wheels. This R/C model assembly kit depicts that car, with a polycarbonate body to recreate the stylish Swift sport form. A full set of stickers is included to recreate details across the body, and the model is based upon the proven M-05 chassis.
- The muscular Swift sport body with twin exhausts is molded artfully in lightweight polycarbonate.
- Polycarbonate light cases are separate parts, and provide a detailed accent at the front.
- Separately molded side mirrors with integrated turn signals are dedicated parts for this model.
- Black 5-spoke wheels are a perfect foil for the brightly colored body. Tires have inner sponges.
M-05: Low Center of Gravity, High Performance!
The front wheel drive M-05 chassis features a lightweight, narrow, durable, and easy-assembly semi-monocoque resin frame. Gearbox, motor, battery pack, receiver, servo and ESC are positioned for optimum weight distribution and a low center of gravity. Ground-hugging 4-wheel independent double wishbone suspension and the 3-piece steering linkage provide stable high-speed cornering. 5-spoke wheels are molded in black and have tires with realistic tread patterns and inner sponge. In this kit, the chassis is setup with the 239mm L wheelbase.
- A centerline steering servo is at the heart of the 3-piece steering tie-rod for superb response.
- The kit includes a transponder stay component, which is a must for those who want to race.
- The rear section can be re-configured for three different wheelbases (this model: 239mm).
The Tamiya M-05 chassis is a fun, simple on-road chassis that takes front wheel drive mechanics and puts replica compact cars on top for fun driving thrills. This kit recreates the Suzuki Swift sport. The Swift underwent a full model change in 2017, and impressively managed to improve overall design rigidity while getting lighter. It was given a wider tread, a direct injection 1.4-liter inline-4 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission. The Tamiya assembly kit faithfully captures the body and its details in tough polycarbonate material with the body already pre-painted!
